Work in progress

Work in progress

After several months of crazy transitions, including getting engaged, returning to the states, starting a new job at an independent bookstore, and settling into a new house, I’ve finally been able to spend several consecutive days in my studio. It’s great to be able to work on drawing larger than the sketchbook size of 9″x12″ again.

I’ll be spending the next two years exploring and illuminating Genesis 11 (The Tower of Babel) and T.S. Eliot’s poem “Choruses from the Rock” through drawings and bi-weekly discussions and collaboration with composer and professor Dr. Sauerwein. The story of Babel and “Choruses” dialogue well together as one tells of man’s endeavor to make a name for himself and the other details the constant struggle and strife of building the true church while living in community.
